GROOMING Run through the yellow pages of your home town and you will see the incredible number of grooming salons that operate nowadays. Think about it.. The initial investment is minimal. Anyone who owns a bathtub, a blower, a razor and a pair of scissors can become a grooming professional overnight ! So, which one to choose ? If you have your dog groomed so that he feels good about it, and if the final look makes no difference to you, then, any grooming studio will be fine ! However, if your dog is an intricate part of the family, if you like your dog to look nice and feel good, then you have to be selective in choosing the best grooming facilities for your dog. |

So.. how do you choose a good studio ? A good studio hires only competent personnel. Here is our knowledgeable staff : Brigitte Dupuis : Grooming since 1985 and has been with Le Centre Canin DesRuisseaux since 1991. In charge of the Studio Perfection, she has participated in numerous canine competitions ( beauty, obedience and agility). She also attends grooming seminars given by different clubs. She is a member of the Canadian Canine Circle and subscribes to the Dogs in Canada magazine since 1997. She is always on the lookout for new trends and grooming styles. Her highly qualified team is sure to satisfy your every need and wishes, so that your loved one will be groomed with the utmost care and love. A good studio has good equipment We have two elevated bathtubs, three large blowers and lots of clean towels. Each grooming technician operates an electric or hydraulic table that comes down close to the floor, eliminating all risks of injury to a large dog. Each groomer has two razors and many blades so that he or she, can change them easily preventing unwanted burns to the animal. They also use different model brushes, combs, knives, scissors and others, because each type of hair needs a specific tool to render a professional cut and make the grooming session easier on your dog. A good studio offers convenient operating hoursWe are open Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 6.00 and Saturday 8.30
to 5.00 A good grooming technician is always attentive to his client’s needs (the master’s) : Never will we undergo grooming work that has not been discussed beforehand with the client.. (e.g. clip the dog’s hair when only brushing has been asked for). However, he must also be attentive to his client’s ( the dog) wishes ! As far as I’m concerned, I will never groom a dog, risking injury or making him crazy with anger (oh yes..) simply to have the dog look good ! In my mind, the dog doesn’t have to pay for his owner’s negligence or the lack of time to brush his animal. However, if the dog is in bad shape but can be groomed, there will be a surcharge for the extra time spent grooming him. |
